Walking in Devon

The last few days have been glorious. For the first time this year, the cloud has lifted and the sunshine has been out.

No excuse needed for me to put on my Ada boots and get back walking!

Living in Mid Devon is a delight for walkers. There are plenty of hills and valleys, streams and woods, which provide a wonderful diversity of terrain and scenery.

During the week I was walking through our local wood in the Exe valley and stumbled across some deforestation. Whilst I hate to see it, I also appreciate it is necessary for the long term good of the wood.

This encounter with sustainable forestry reminded me of our own practices here at A.C. Hare where we take sustainability very seriously. It is why we pursue a policy of producing quality products that last the test of time rather than indulging in fast fashion at a price to the environment. You can read more about it here:  Sustainability at A.C.Hare (achare.co.uk)

As I enjoyed the beautiful sounds and smells as trees crashed to the earth around me, I headed off on my walk happy that someone, somewhere, was buying a pair of beautiful boots on our site and in turn allowing us to plant a tree in conjunction with our partnership with One Tree Planted.
